High speed motor and heat dissipation

What is a high-speed motor?

Generally speaking, a motor with more than 10,000 revolutions can be called a high-speed motor, that is, a brushless motor with more than 10,000 revolutions can be called a high-speed brushless motor, which can also be defined by the linear speed of rotor rotation. The rotational speed of the motor is generally greater than 50m/s, and the centrifugal stress of the rotor is directly proportional to the square of the rotor rotational speed. Therefore, the rotational speed of the rotor structure design can be reflected according to the rotational speed of the rotor.

High-speed brushless motors are also widely used in different industries, such as laboratory instruments, high-speed centrifuges, agitators, household wall breakers, hair dryers and electric tools.

How to dissipate heat of high speed brushless motor?

The loss of motor increases with the geometric progression of rotating speed, and the heat generated by high loss makes the temperature rise of motor increase rapidly. In order to maintain high-speed operation, it is necessary to design a cooling method with good heat dissipation. Usually, the cooling mode of high-speed brushless motor is internal forced air cooling, which can be directly blown into the motor to take away the heat of coil and iron core.

"Internal oil cooling" is a combination of oil cooling in stator slots of high-speed brushless motors, for example, in applications where the motors must be shut down and protected, or in applications where there is no strong wind. Some motors also adopt the combination of winding oil injection cooling+stator oil cooling+rotor oil cooling.

High-speed brushless motor can meet the performance requirements of users, and the performance parameters can be adjusted as required, which will be an advantage of customized manufacturing industry.
